ReNEW is seeking a Social Worker/Counselor that will report to the Manager of Mental Health Services and their School Director. The Social Worker/Counselor will perform a wide variety of administrative and clinical duties relative to the overall activities of the clinical and special education programs at the school building level.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
This position is established to serve as part of a team of support of all students enrolled in a PK-8 public school with a specific focus on students with exceptionalities. It is expected that the school-based Social Worker/Counselor will fulfill the following:
WHAT YOU BRING
Education and Experience: Must have a Masters or Doctorate degree in Social Work or Counseling. A minimum of two years clinical experience with preference for clinical practice in a school based setting required. Candidate must be licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners (LMSW or LCSW) or Licensed Professional Board of Counselors Examiners (PLPC or LPC) and hold an Ancillary Certificate from the Louisiana Department of Education. License and certification must be maintained based on Louisiana State Board of Social Work or Licensed Professional Board of Counselors and Louisiana Department of Education guidelines. Experience in and clear understanding of school based service delivery required.
Knowledge and Ability Requirements: Must possess ability to deliver integrated clinical services to diverse and challenging populations. Candidate must be energetic, flexible, creative, innovative individual who can develop strengths-based, student-centered support plans which support learning for students. Ability to function as a member of a team is critical. Strong communication and writing skills are also required. The ability to multi-task, follow-through and work as a member of a multidisciplinary team is required.
