The Data Manager will join the operations team to drive Renew Accelerated High School to better support teachers in data collection, data driven instruction and regularly monitoring progress towards school wide goals. The Data Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations to create and support systems that foster accountability and an intense focus on results. The Data Manager will own designing and maintaining systems to ensure accurate credits, schedules, testing and graduation progress for all students.

Develops and Implements plan for school-wide data analysis and usage (i.e. daily data, quarterly data days, data-roll ups, data dashboards)

  • Work closely with Director of Operations to track and report on progress towards school wide goals

  • Lead quarterly data audit to measure progress towards all Alt-Accountability metrics and design reports to communicate progress

  • Work with College and Career Readiness team to generate reports of students to track progress towards graduation

  • Creates, implement, and and follow up to ensure data is accurate including attendance, grades, tests results, etc (with the support of other relevant staff)

Coaches and develops staff on data analysis, collection and replanning based on data

  • Gather and analyze academic and non-academic data for Leadership Team members as needed, including but not limited to:

    • Attendance and enrollment data

    • Academic data (standards mastery, test results, grades)

    • Intervention data (behavior, social-emotional supports)

    • Advisory data (communications, progress toward goals)

  • Support staff across the school in analyzing data as needed for grants, reports, research, proposals, and instruction

  • Technology

  • Design and deliver trainings for new and returning systems to best utilize our personalized learning resources (Canvas, PlayPosit, SchoolRunner, PowerSchool)

  • Ensure that our outside partners (such as Community Works) are able to use our systems with fidelity & follow up as necessary

  • Create login credentials for all staff and manage appropriate security settings depending on staff needs

  • Troubleshooting school technology and personalized learning programs

  • Maintain Student and staff website including accurate calendar  

  • Support Personalized Learning Teacher Liaison through monthly check ins and problem solving around RAHS’s unique environment

Maintains data files for academic, cultural and operational data for the school

  • Reporting

  • Work closely with ReNew’s Executive Director of Data and Assessment and RAHS Director of Operations to ensure all student data is uploaded to the State Transcript System (STS), E-Scholar and Career and Technical Education (CATE) in an efficient and timely manner

  • Verify records from Louisiana Department of Education that measure alt-accountability performance

  • Print and distribute midterm and final report cards to students

  • Create weekly data dashboard to summarize teacher progress toward meeting goals surrounding attendance, grades, behavior data, phone calls, and other data as needed and monitor goal completion over time

  • Scheduling

  • Work closely with the Enrollment Coordinator to determine the best course schedule for students to meet their individualized goals

  • Build and maintain master schedule each semester accurately in PowerSchool in accordance with state codes and requirements

  • Process all schedule change request as needed

  • Creatively problem solve around ensuring our master schedule meets the diverse needs of student and staff

Coordinates and oversees school and state testing

  • Serve as school test coordinator for:

    • Internal interim testing (Challenge 1 and 2 assessments)

    • State testing (EOC and LAA1; LAA2 and GEE as needed)

    • ACT Testing

    • MAP Testing

  • Coordinate support from Director of Operations and Intervention Coordinator (back-up test coordinator) to design effective testing groups and smooth testing logistics

Supports students and colleagues in meeting short and long term goals as member of RAHS’s Support Team

  • Support student and staff culture through daily hall duty

  • Develop and maintain relationships with students and families through sponsoring student leaders, mentorship, etc

  • Support teachers by covering classes and delivering high quality lessons in the event of a teacher absence

In addition to the expectations listed above, you will bring the following to our schools and students:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least three years of experience working in education; high-performing charter schools preferred
  • Experience and success with historically under-served populations of students
  • The commitment and personal responsibility to do whatever it takes to help prepare our students for college and beyond
  • Experience with Powerschools & Schoolrunner preferred
  • Clear understanding of what effective teaching and intervention looks like and a deep commitment to effective and rigorous instruction
  • The ability to track and analyze data to uncover trends and act strategically to improve results
  • Ability to communicate compelling feedback that motivates staff, impacts instruction and accelerates student achievement
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate, motivate and influence others to act
