We are seeking Administrative Assistant candidates who will support the school-based leaders and staff to fulfill ReNEW Schools’ mission to transform existing academically unacceptable PK-12 schools into rigorous, college preparatory schools. Please note that the Administrative Assistant salary is set at $24,500.

ReNEW Schools is reinventing education in New Orleans by changing the status quo with innovative ways to prepare our students for college and beyond. We are transforming the city’s lowest performing schools by employing a whole-school turnaround model founded on the core belief that all children can learn.

Ensure that the front office space is a welcoming environment for guests and organized to run the business of the school. More specifically, you will:
  • Offer the highest quality customer service to all constituents.
  • Support the school-based transportation system.
  • Collaborate with custodians and other operations staff to ensure that all internal school operations are running consistently at a high quality.
  • Collaborate with school-based lunch staff to ensure efficient federal food services program, including but not limited to staffing the POS and daily reporting, when necessary.
  • Support the school operations managers in duties related to
  • Processing financial request documents.
  • Managing volunteers and volunteer projects.
  • Processing and communicating facility maintenance requests.
  • Coordinating logistics for building events.
  • Interfacing with vendors as they visit the building.
  • Support in the maintenance of accurate student records in all student information system, including (but not limited to) Powerschools, Kickboard, and EduSoft.
  • Intake and exiting of students within the system.
  • Verify student data and maintain paper student files.
  • Maintain students’ class schedules.
  • Prepare data for state reporting and compliance.
  • Work with school leaders to ensure accurate attendance.
In addition to the expectations listed above, you will bring the following to your school and students:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 2 or more years of school-based experience, preferably in an underserved area
  • Operations, customer service, and front desk experience preferred
